BOMA NEWS - WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 24TH, 2025

Call to Action: Turn Your Building Orange on September 30th

Dear Members,

As Truth and Reconciliation Day approaches, we reflect on what this day means to us as individuals, as an industry and as a country. At BOMA Canada, this means asking what we can do to mark this important moment in the calendar, which we commonly call “Orange Shirt Day.”

And so, as we do every year, we call on BOMA members from across Canada to Turn Your Buildings Orange on September 30, 2025. We also encourage our members to wear orange shirts to work, ensure that mental health support is available for colleagues who may need it and reflect on the broader legacy of Canada’s relationship with its Indigenous communities.

Throughout the year, we seek to bring awareness and leadership so that our industry does its part to drive reconciliation. At BOMA Canada, this means bringing Indigenous speakers and educators to the membership and opening important events with land acknowledgements and Indigenous welcomes. We encourage your feedback so that we can do more for you on this important matter.

We all have a role to play in reconciliation, and our members and our industry stand ready to do their part on Orange Shirt Day and year-round.

Thank you.
